As one year ends and a new year begins, it is important to take a moment to reflect on the challenges our world has faced, and the impact we’ve made on our people and their communities. One of the biggest challenges of the year for our team in Nigeria was the devastating floods that affected many parts of the country.

According to the Federal Government, the floods displaced over 1.4 million people, killed over 603 people, and injured more than 2,400 people. In addition, 82,035 houses were damaged, and 332,327 hectares (821,198 acres) of land were affected.

At Tek Experts, two of our core values are “We Care” and “Stronger Together.” We believe it’s important to show this not just in words, but in our actions.

We recognize that the power to succeed can be unleashed through combined resources and creativity of a diverse community, so we partnered with the Lagos Food Bank to support the Papa Ashafa /Araromi community, a highly populated, predominantly residential locality in Lagos, to make a difference in their lives this holiday.

On Thursday, December 29th, 2022, we delivered . These boxes contained food and other household items provided by the Temporary Food Assistance Program (TEFAP). They will sustain the recipients for 2-4 weeks and aid in their recovery process after losing their homes and community to the floods.

We are so proud of our Nigerian team for the amazing work they put in to make this a success. As we go into 2023 and continue our efforts to support our employees and their communities, we are excited to see how our teams continue to show “We Care” and prove that we truly are “Stronger Together”.
